Larry Allen, area chairman of Lubbock-based Peoples Bank, has announced the promotion of Marcus Brockman to rural markets president. He has been with Peoples Bank for 21 years. Brockman grew up in Nazareth and helped open the Peoples Bank branch there. He has been serving customers in that community as a lender since the Nazareth branch opened in 2005.
Passionate about serving the community, Brockman is treasurer of the Nazareth Knights of Columbus, board member of the Future of Nazareth Fund and a parishioner of the Holy Family Catholic Church.
Established in 1968, Peoples Bank and its parent company, Peoples Bancorp Inc., recently completed its merger with Houston-based Cornerstone Capital Bancorp Inc., the holding company for Cornerstone Capital Bank SSB. The combined company has more than $3.4 billion in assets. All acquired branches remain open as Peoples Bank, a division of Cornerstone Capital Bank. The Peoples Bank leadership team, branch presidents and support staff remain in place. Allen, former chairman and CEO of Peoples Bank, has joined the boards of Cornerstone Capital Bancorp and Cornerstone Capital Bank and now serves as area chairman for Peoples Bank.
