On August 4, El Paso-based WestStar announced the appointment of Lorena Garay as senior vice president/commercial banker. She will manage the bank’s existing investment real estate client relationships while continuing to grow its commercial lending portfolio.
Garay brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial lending and deposit relationship management, with a focus on building long-term relationships and supporting client growth. She will work closely with business clients to structure financing solutions and expand lending portfolios. Her experience in investor real estate lending and deep ties to the El Paso market position her to contribute immediately to WestStar’s continued growth.
“Lorena’s experience in commercial lending and her strong relationships in the El Paso market make her a valuable addition to our team,” says Liliana Miranda, executive vice president/chief commercial banking officer. “She understands what local businesses need to grow, and her client-focused approach aligns well with WestStar’s commitment to relationship-based banking.”
Garay earned a BBA degree in finance from the University of Texas–El Paso, with a specialization in commercial banking. She is actively involved in the community as a member of Prayer and Life Workshops, where she provides guidance to local youth and supports personal development initiatives.
Established in 1990, WestStar operates 14 branches in the Borderplex region, which includes El Paso, Texas; Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Juárez, Mexico.
