Jefferson Bank Hires Morris for Trusts and Estates and West as Commercial Lender

September 1, 2026

San Antonio-based Jefferson Bank has hired David Morris as senior vice president/trust and estates officer and Taylor West as senior vice president/commercial lending officer.

David MorrisMorris will serve as the primary point of contact for clients with moderate and complex trusts, providing fiduciary services and addressing client needs. He will oversee trust account administration, ensure transactions comply with applicable laws and trust agreements and assist with estate administration and probate. Morris brings nearly 20 years of private legal practice experience in San Antonio, where he assisted families with the preparation and implementation of estate plans and helped clients navigate the probate process.

Morris earned a BBA degree in finance from Abilene Christian University and MBA and JD degrees from Pepperdine University. In 2019, he became board certified in estate planning and probate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Taylor WestWest will develop loan and deposit business with small- to middle-market commercial companies, professionals and associations primarily in San Antonio and surrounding markets. He will also manage the loan process, including credit underwriting, loan documentation and ongoing portfolio management. He brings nearly 10 years of banking and alternative finance experience working with operating companies of varying sizes. His experience includes analyzing financial statements, underwriting credit, preparing credit memos and assisting with loan presentations.

West graduated from Trinity University with a concentration in finance and a minor in economics. He currently serves on the board of the Coastal Conservation Association in San Antonio.

Established in 1946, Jefferson Bank operates banking centers in San Antonio, Austin, Boerne and New Braunfels.
