Robinson Joins PlainsCapital Bank as Denton Market President

Randy RobinsonDallas-based PlainsCapital Bank has hired Randy Robinson to serve as Denton market president. With more than 40 years of experience in financial services, he will lead the bank’s strategic growth and community engagement efforts in the Denton market.

“Randy brings a deep understanding of the Denton market, a great track record of building strong teams and a genuine passion for serving clients,” says Brian Heflin, president. “He knows this community well, and I’m confident he’ll make a meaningful impact on our clients, our team and the broader Denton area.”

Robinson previously served as senior vice president/regional commercial lender at PointBank in Denton for more than a decade. Prior to that, he was president and CEO of AccessBank Texas, now part of Texas Regional Bank, for seven years.

Throughout his 46-year career, Robinson has been a dedicated advocate for the Denton community. He was named the 2024 Denton Chamber of Commerce “Volunteer of the Year” and currently serves in numerous leadership roles, including treasurer of the North Texas Fair Association, lieutenant governor of Rotary District 5790 and co-chair of United Way of Denton County’s Annual Golf Tournament. He also serves on the board of trustees for Medical City Denton, Decatur and Argyle, and is a board member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Greater Denton County.

Robinson’s past service includes leadership roles with the Denton Rotary Club, dean’s advisory board for the University of North Texas G. Brint Ryan College of Business, City of Denton Economic Development Partnership board, Denton Chamber of Commerce, Texas Woman’s University Foundation board and United Way of Denton County, among others. Robinson is also a graduate of Leadership Northeast Tarrant County and a 1999 graduate of Leadership Denton.

Robinson earned a BBA degree in finance from the University of North Texas.

Established in 1955, PlainsCapital Bank
operates 55 Texas branches. Its major markets include Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Lubbock, the Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio.
