Long Joins First Commercial Bank as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

April 3, 2025

James LongSeguin-based First Commercial Bank NA has hired James Long to serve as executive vice president/chief operating officer. He will oversee daily operations, enhance banking services and support the bank’s mission. The new hire was announced by Mark Long, president and CEO.

James Long began his career at First State Bank as an intern in 2000 while attending Texas State University. After graduation, his role at the bank expanded and he progressed through the years from teller to commercial loan officer. He continued at the bank when it was sold to First Victoria Bank in 2012 and then again to Prosperity Bank. Most recently, Long held the title of regional president for Prosperity Bank.

In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University, Long also completed the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University in 2008. He is a member of the Texas State University Leadership Council, Comal County investment committee, Downtown Rotary Club of New Braunfels, Communities in Schools, Comal County Appraisal District board and the Greater New Braunfels Homebuilders Association.

Established in 1983, First Commercial Bank has locations in Seguin, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Jourdanton and Pearsall.
