Donahoe Appointed President of Southside Bancshares Inc. and Southside Bank

May 31, 2024

Keith DonahoeOn May 16, the boards of Southside Bancshares Inc. and Tyler-based Southside Bank unanimously approved the appointment of Keith Donahoe to serve as president of the company and the bank. Lee R. Gibson will continue as chief executive officer of the company and the bank.

Donahoe has almost 30 years of experience in banking in Texas. He joined Southside Bank in 2021 as Austin market president and has served as the bank’s regional president of Central Texas since 2022. He previously held leadership roles, including as executive vice president, at Frost Bank for two and a half decades prior to joining Southside Bank.

Donahoe earned his BBA degree in finance from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University and serves as an advisory council member of the college. He has also served as board chair of the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians and as president of the Real Estate Council of Austin.

“Keith brings an extensive wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to this position, having demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in his role as the bank’s regional president of Central Texas over the past three years,” Gibson says. “His deep understanding of our industry, our culture and his vision for Southside’s future make him the ideal candidate to serve as president.”

Established in 1960, Southside Bank operates 54 branches and a loan production office throughout East Texas, Southeast Texas and the greater Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin and Houston areas.
