McCauley to Retire After Serving Frost Bank and the Texas Banking Industry for Four Decades

Cliff McCauleyOn May 28, San Antonio-based Frost Bank announced that Cliff McCauley, senior executive vice president, has decided to retire in June. He spent 42 years of his 44-year career at Frost Bank in the correspondent banking division, working with banks across Texas. In 2020, McCauley also took on responsibility for treasury management, merchant services and public funds lines of business.

McCauley received a BS degree in animal science and a Master of Agriculture degree in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University. Over the course of his career, he served on several trade and nonprofit organizations. He is a past chair of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) and served on the IBAT Education Foundation and IBAT Services boards. He served on the large bank council and represented Texas on the federal delegate board of the Independent Community Bankers of America. McCauley was a member of the government relations council of the Consumer Bankers Association and served on the board of directors of the South Texas Higher Education Authority for more than 20 years. His most recent contribution to the Texas banking community was serving as vice chair of the Finance Commission of Texas from 2018 to 2024.

In 2021, McCauley was added to the IBAT Wall of Heroes and Legends of Texas Banking. The Wall of Heroes and Legends is reserved for special individuals who have greatly contributed to the strength of community banking in Texas.

Established in 1868, Frost Bank serves the Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Permian Basin, Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio regions.
