Corpus Christi-based Charter Bank has announced the appointment of Matt Cravey to its board of directors. He is the founder and president of Cravey Real Estate Services Inc. in Corpus Christi, the largest commercial real estate firm south of San Antonio.
Cravey’s career spans more than 50 years. He first went into real estate in 1974, selling ranch land and large commercial tracts throughout the Texas Hill Country. When he relocated to Corpus Christi in 1976, he expanded to include retail, office, industrial and investment properties across the Coastal Bend. Over the decades, his transactional footprint has grown to include virtually every major asset in the Corpus Christi area.
Cravey holds two of the highest designations in the commercial real estate industry: the prestigious Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). He has worked on behalf of clients throughout Texas and in major markets across the U.S. Cravey’s experience with large, complex properties has allowed him to build a network of investors, owners and brokers across Mexico, Germany, Japan, Korea, Canada, the U.K., Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.
A skilled negotiator, expert witness and trusted consultant, Cravey has helped resolve complex real estate issues, including bankruptcy, lender workouts and distressed asset recovery. He is a frequent speaker and commentator on commercial real estate, having been featured in major media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, CNBC, Reuters and the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
Cravey’s accolades are as extensive as his résumé. He is a multi-year recipient of the CoStar Power Broker Award for top sales and leasing performance, and has been honored nationally for his contributions to business, leadership and media.
Established in 1962, Charter Bank operates three branches in Corpus Christi and one in Rockport.
