Chief Credit Officer at Community Bank in Central Texas (North of Austin)

A Community Bank in Central Texas (North of Austin) Seeks a Chief Credit Officer

Our vibrant community bank client with a footprint throughout Texas and surrounding states has engaged Kreps–Colgan & Associates Executive Search to recruit a Chief Credit Officer to lead and manage the bank’s commercial credit culture aligned with its strategic growth plans. This person will play a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s credit strategy while ensuring the soundness of its commercial credit portfolio. A collaborative leadership team with dynamic energy and vision drives the bank’s success. If you are high-energy and love to be part of an amazing team—and you have the experience that aligns with a successful profile—this role is for you.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • a strategic mindset;
  • experience working in organizations with at least $2 billion in asset size;
  • an exceptional commercial credit foundation;
  • experience with oversight of loan operations;
  • leadership skills;
  • experience with complex loan requests;
  • an ability to mitigate risk;
  • an ability to maintain loan compliance;
  • exceptional oral and written communication skills, including policies and policy updates;
  • a talent for building rapport easily and promoting a positive work environment;
  • experience working with regulators;
  • experience leading a loan committee;
  • the ability to ensure that loan processes are consistent, compliant and efficient to support the lending function; and
  • credit approval authority would be a plus.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting and/or business—MBA degree preferred;
  • 10-plus years’ experience in commercial credit, as well as 10-plus years of supervisory experience;
  • Promote employee engagement and build synergy between credit and lending teams, as well as throughout the organization;
  • Completed formal credit training preferred; and
  • Position will be on-site in Central Texas, north of Austin.
