Henderson-based VeraBank has hired Melanie Becka and Baylor Lyon for its lending team. Becka will serve as senior vice president of mortgage lending and Lyon as vice president of commercial lending.

Becka started her career in banking as a teenager and brings more than 24 years of experience to her new role. As a mortgage lender, she will be helping customers with all types of home lending, including purchase, refinance and construction. Becka earned a degree in agribusiness from Texas A&M University. Becka is involved with many local nonprofits, including the Greater Brazos Valley Home Builder Association, Burleson County Chamber of Commerce, Bryan College Station Chamber of Commerce, Bryan College Station Realtor Association and Women’s Council of Realtors.
Lyon has been in banking for more than 13 years, including five years of commercial lending experience. He earned a degree in agriculture leadership with an emphasis in business from Texas A&M University. Lyon is committed to community involvement and currently serves on the board of directors for the Bryan College Station Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Brazos Alumni Association and Junior Achievement.
