On February 12, El Paso-based WestStar Bank announced the addition of Giselle Smith-Johnson to its commercial banking group. She will focus on special projects supporting the group. Smith-Johnson brings more than 20 years of commercial banking experience to WestStar Bank. She has been successful in facilitating expansive business growth focused in the area of treasury management.
Smith-Johnson earned her BBA degree in banking and finance from the University of Mississippi. Over the years, she has been active in her community, serving as president of the board of directors of YWCA El Paso del Norte region and as a board member for Girl Scouts of the Rio Grande, as well as participating in Leadership El Paso and Leadership Texas.
Established in 1990, WestStar Bank is a locally owned community bank with assets of more than $2.3 billion. It serves El Paso, Las Cruces, New Mexico, and the Northern Mexico area, collectively known as the Borderplex.
