Prosperity Bank Taps Hobbs for Community Outreach in Central Texas

Demeca HobbsDemeca Hobbs has joined El Campo-based Prosperity Bank to serve in Austin as community outreach coordinator for Central Texas. She joins a team dedicated to expanding resources, access and education in minority communities throughout the bank’s 292 branch network. With an emphasis on empowerment and education, Hobbs, along with her colleagues in Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth, offers workshops, seminars and tools developed to meet the financial needs of minority communities in Texas.

Hobbs previously served as mortgage loan officer at VeraBank in Austin. With more than 25 years of financial services experience, she has also worked in a variety of positions at Affiliated Bank in Round Rock, Lubbock National Bank in Lubbock and PlainsCapital Bank in Lubbock.

Hobbs earned her bachelor’s degree in early child development, family studies, elementary education and teaching from Texas Tech University. She volunteers for the SIMS Foundation and The SAFE Alliance. Previous community service experience includes counseling for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, serving as a community service officer for the West Texas Home Builders Association, volunteering for Bridge of Lubbock and handling client education, referrals and patient relations at Hospice of Lubbock.

Established in 1949, Prosperity Bank operates nearly 300 branches in Texas and Oklahoma.
