First Bank Texas Promotes Ferguson to Chief Credit Officer

Brooks FergusonWillow Park-based First Bank Texas has promoted Brooks Ferguson to chief credit officer. He has been an integral part of the bank’s leadership team. In his new role, he will oversee the bank’s credit administration, lending policies and risk management practices.

“Brooks has demonstrated exceptional leadership and deep knowledge of credit management,” notes Zan Prince, chair. “His ability to balance risk with opportunity makes him the right choice to lead our credit strategy.

Ferguson most recently was an executive vice president and senior credit officer at the bank. Prior to joining First Bank Texas, he was a senior credit risk officer at CrossFirst Bank and before that, served as chief credit officer at Charis Bank. Earlier in his career, Ferguson worked at Texas Capital Bank for more than nine years.

Ferguson earned his BBA degree in finance from Texas A&M University.

Established in 1880, First Bank Texas serves customers across the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and West Texas.
