Round Rock-based R Bank has hired Chris Harkrider to serve as executive vice president and chief credit officer. He joins the bank with more than 30 years of experience that includes commercial lending, portfolio management and leadership.
Prior to R Bank, Harkrider was a financial examiner at the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending and before that served as chief lending officer and chief credit officer at Pioneer Bank SSB. His career also includes stints at First Community Bank NA, Balcones Bank and Guaranty Bank.
Harkrider earned his BBA degree in finance from the University of Texas–Austin. He is also a graduate of the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. He has served on the boards of the Seton Hays Foundation and YMCA of Austin.
Established in 2009, R Bank operates 10 branches in Central and East Texas, as well as Fort Worth.
