In early October, Christopher Williston, president and CEO of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, was elected to serve as chairman of the Council of Community Banking Associations (CCBA). CCBA is comprised of the leaders of independent community banking associations around the country, and is exclusively affiliated with the Independent Community Bankers of America. The council provides a forum for collaboration and support among those leading the fight for the future of community banking.
“The men and women who make up the Council of Community Banking Associations have had an incredible impact on my career,” Williston says. “They are mentors and friends and the truest of true believers in community banking. It’s an honor to serve as the council’s chairman.”
Williston will serve as chair of the council for one year.
