On August 22, Dallas-based Veritex Community Bank announced that Kathy Armstrong has been hired as executive vice president and correspondent banking director. She is responsible for developing and executing Veritex Bank’s correspondent banking business and providing client consultation and operational guidance to financial institutions in Texas and throughout the U.S.
With more than 32 years of banking experience, Armstrong previously served as executive vice president and director of specialty and correspondent banking at Independent Financial. Prior to that, she held executive-level positions with Cadence Bank, BBVA, First Financial Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas.
Armstrong graduated magna cum laude with a BBA degree in accounting and business/management from Texas A&M University–Commerce. She also earned an MS degree in accounting and finance from Texas A&M University. Armstrong has served on the boards of United Way in Ellis County, the Leadership Division of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, Navarro College Education Foundation and Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University. She has also served as treasurer on the board of the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce.
Established in 2004, Veritex Community Bank operates 31 banking offices in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, Houston area and East Texas.
