The SW Graduate School of Banking (SWGSB) at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business is holding its 2024 session between May 28 and June 7 in Dallas. Emerging leaders and experienced financial professionals—including regional presidents, commercial loan officers, branch managers, credit analysts, cashiers, mortgage lenders, consumer lenders, operations officers, and state and federal regulators—gather each summer for this nine-day leadership development program that propels careers in the financial services industry.
Jeffrey R. Schmid, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, will provide the address at a graduation ceremony at 1 p.m. on June 7 in Dallas. A SWGSB graduate, Schmid served as president and CEO of SWGSB before taking on his new post at the Kansas City Fed last year. He leads a workforce of 2,000 people located in offices in Kansas City, Denver, Oklahoma City and Omaha, and provides an essential leadership role in monetary policy.
“As a graduate of SWGSB over 35 years ago, I can assure you this school changed the trajectory of my career and made me a more effective leader,” Schmid says.
“We’re pleased to have Jeffrey R. Schmid provide our commencement address,” says William T. Chittenden, Ph.D., current SWGSB president and CEO. “His longstanding association with SWGSB is one more reason our program is world-class. From essential core elements to the latest management strategies, SWGSB provides a collaborative style of learning that empowers participants to gain mastery of leadership over three consecutive years.”
