San Antonio-based Jefferson Bank has hired two new bankers to serve as senior vice presidents—one in the bank’s Austin branch and the other in San Antonio.
Spence Maier has been hired as senior vice president/commercial lending officer in Austin. With a focus on small to middle-market commercial companies, he develops loan and deposit business in Austin and surrounding areas. He manages the entire loan process, from underwriting to portfolio management, while actively engaging in community development for business opportunities.
Maier has 22 years of banking experience in Texas, Arizona and California. Prior to joining Jefferson Bank, he was a senior vice president/private banker for Sage Capital Bank in Austin. Maier studied criminal justice, sociology, psychology and business management at Graceland College in Iowa.
Jennifer Suttles has been tapped to serve as senior vice president/trust officer for Jefferson Bank in San Antonio. She is the primary point of contact for trust and fiduciary services, managing client relationships and ensuring compliance with fiduciary obligations.
Suttles has more than 26 years of banking experience, including stints at PNC Bank and Fifth Third Bank. Prior to joining Jefferson Bank, she served as fiduciary director at Cincinnati, Ohio-based PNC Bank. Suttles earned a BFA degree from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, her MBA degree in project management from Northern Kentucky University and a JD degree from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.
