Jefferson Bank Hires Longoria, Payero and Allen; Promotes Scott

April 30, 2026

San Antonio-based Jefferson Bank has added three new bankers and promoted one.

Gabe Longoria has joined Jefferson Bank as executive vice president/chief information officer. He brings more than 20 years of technology leadership in financial services, specializing in digital transformation, infrastructure modernization and cybersecurity. Before joining Jefferson Bank, he served as senior vice president/chief information officer at Lone Star National Bank for almost three years. He has also worked at Frost Bank, IBC Bank and additional financial institutions in San Antonio. Longoria earned a BBA degree in business administration and management from the University of Texas–San Antonio and his MS degree in project management from Regis University.

The bank recently hired Sharal Payero to serve as senior vice president/head of operations. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across deposit operations, credit card servicing and AML. Before joining Jefferson Bank, she was with USAA in San Antonio for more than 23 years, culminating her service there as director/agile product management/credit card servicing. Payero earned a BS degree in business management, marketing and related support services from Regis University.

Josh Allen has been hired as president of mortgage. With more than 18 years of experience in residential lending and financial services, he is recognized for building high-performing teams and driving sustainable growth across diverse markets. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University, he spent five years in the commercial construction business. In 2008, he transitioned to the mortgage industry and has since accumulated 18 years of lending experience.

Kyle Scott has been promoted to vice president/commercial lending officer. Previously a commercial credit analyst, he brings 12 years of experience in commercial banking, specializing in commercial and industrial lending, equipment financing and commercial real estate. Prior to joining Jefferson Bank, Scott worked as a credit underwriter and credit analyst for financial institutions in Texas and California, including Bank of Austin and Texas Gulf Bank NA. He studied finance, banking and securities law at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas–Austin. He has volunteered in assisting low-income individuals and families prepare their tax returns.
