Brownwood-based TexasBank has hired Kelsey Goates to serve as vice president/market manager at the bank’s Stephenville location. She comes to TexasBank upon the announcement of Katharine Demetruk’s retirement. Demetruk recently celebrated 46 years in banking.
Goates’ banking career started in 2013 as a teller and she quickly moved up the ranks to branch operations manager. She managed the human resources department as well as the marketing department.

In 2024, Goates received the Texas Bankers Association “Emerging Leader” Award and the Independent Community Bankers of America “Top 40 Under 40 Community Banker” Award. Later this fall, she will participate in the Banking on Leaders of Tomorrow (BOLT) program with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
Goates currently serves as president of the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erath County board of directors, Texas Bankers Association Bank Leadership Council and Independent Bankers Association of Texas Leadership Division board.
