Daniel Frasier, director of the Texas Department of Banking’s corporate activities and financial innovation, is retiring after 18 years of state service. His retirement is effective June 30, 2026.
“We congratulate Dan on this career milestone and wish him a happy retirement,” says Charles G. Cooper, commissioner of the Texas Department of Banking. “We appreciate his years of service to the State of Texas and his contribution toward effective supervision of the state’s financial services industry.”
As director of corporate activities, Frasier’s responsibilities include supervising the chartering, licensing and general application filing activities for banks, foreign bank agencies, trust companies and money services businesses regulated by the department. He has also been closely involved in all acquisitions, mergers and change-of-control proposals.
Before joining the Texas Department of Banking, Fraiser spent 16 years serving as a bank examiner at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. He joined the department in 2008 as a review examiner and has held leadership positions in both the bank and trust supervision and corporate activities divisions. In total, he has more than 34 years of regulatory experience. Frasier earned his BBA degree in finance and real estate from New Mexico State University.
