Fernandez Joins American Bank’s Commercial Lending Houston Team

February 5, 2024

Kyle FernandezCorpus Christi-based American Bank has hired Kyle Fernandez to join its Houston team as a commercial lending officer. He will office at the bank’s 3737 Buffalo Speedway location. Making the announcement was Charlie Phillips, Houston market president.

Fernandez joins American Bank after spending the past 18 months as an investment analyst for Pin Oak Investment Advisors Inc. in Houston. Prior to that, he served in several roles at American Bank, including process and operations manager for commercial lending and wealth management and commercial credit underwriter.

Fernandez holds a business degree from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. He is active in various community organizations, including the Tellepsen Family Downtown YMCA’s advisory board, National Eagle Scout Association and Houston Children’s Charity.

“American Bank gave me my start in banking, and I’ve always thought so much of the leadership team and organization,” Fernandez notes.

Established in 1970, American Bank has 19 locations in Houston, Austin, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, New Braunfels, Port Aransas, Rockport, Goliad and Victoria.
