Bankers Lender Hires Miller for Business Development

November 17, 2022

Tim MillerMike Fernandez, president and CEO of Sweetwater-based Texas National Bank, announced that Tim Miller has joined Bankers Lender, Texas National Bank’s direct digital bank offered exclusively to professionals employed in the banking industry. Miller will focus on business development.

A sixth-generation Texan, Miller’s banking career has been spent primarily in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. He started his career in 1977 as a part-time teller at Heritage Savings Association before moving to Wynnewood Bank in Dallas while attending college. Miller then spent the next 40 years with Wells Fargo and Bank of America, as well as their predecessor banks—all in the metroplex except for three years in Amarillo. During his career, Miller has focused on retail banking, private banking and home loans.

In May, Miller retired as managing director/strategy execution manager from Bank of America’s Private Bank. He was responsible for sales integration and production of home loan products in the major markets of Texas, the Southeast, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Nashville and Washington, D.C. Previously, he was the private banking manager for Bank of America’s Private Bank regional offices in Dallas, Atlanta and Providence, Rhode Island.

Miller graduated summa cum laude from the Texas A&M University–Commerce, earning a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in organizational leadership. He also earned an MS degree in management and leadership from Western Governors University. He currently is an adjunct instructor in the organizational leadership program at Texas A&M University–Commerce.

“We are thrilled to bring Tim on board to expand the business development efforts of Bankers Lender,” Fernandez says. “He has extensive experience in sales and private banking, which will serve him well in this new role with our team. The response to Bankers Lender from bankers across the state of Texas has been phenomenal, and Tim is the perfect addition to our team as we continue delivering quality products and a high level of service to our friends in the industry.”

Established in 1995, Texas National bank has assets of $170 million and operates a full-service location in Tuscola, as well as Bankers Lender, the first and only direct digital bank offered exclusively to professionals employed in the banking industry.
