Jarrod Wallum has been elected vice president at Jacksonville-based Austin Bank. The promotion was announced by Jeff Austin III, chairman of the board. With nine years of experience in financial services, Wallum joined the bank in 2018 as a banking officer and location president in the Troup office. He was promoted to assistant vice president in 2021.
Wallum began his career as a sales associate at Allen Samuels East Texas Dodge in 2006, becoming a finance director in 2009. His interest in the financial services industry led him to a financial sales associate position with Compass Bank and a financial sales officer with Kelly Community Federal Credit Union, both in Tyler. Wallum earned an associate degree from Tyler Junior College.
Established in 1900, Austin Bank operates banking offices in 36 East Texas locations within 26 cities and 14 counties. The bank is locally owned and operated by the Austin Family, which is celebrating 114 years of service in the Texas banking industry.
