Tyler-based Southside Bank recently announced that Alice Yang has been named Houston market president. She has worked at Southside Bank since 2020 as commercial lending manager. In her new role, she will oversee all aspects of commercial lending operations and support the growth of the bank’s customer base in the market. The bank’s Houston location currently operates as a commercial loan office.
With nearly 18 years of experience in banking, prior to joining Southside Bank, Yang served at Veritex Community Bank in Houston as senior vice president/commercial banking. Her résumé also includes positions at BB&T, Comerica Bank and Wells Fargo in Houston. Yang received a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from Washington State University.
In 2021, Southside Bank opened the commercial loan office in the Houston. It expanded the bank’s footprint in the region, where the bank has operated a retail branch inside the Kingwood H-E-B grocery store at 19529 Northpark Dr. since 2019.
Established in 1960, Southside Bank operates 55 branches throughout East Texas, Southeast Texas and the greater Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin and Houston areas.
