White and Brewer Retiring from Dalhart Federal Savings & Loan; Johnson to Succeed White as President and CEO

May 14, 2021

Dalhart-based Dalhart Federal Savings & Loan Association SSB recently announced the retirement of two longtime bank executives and a new hire to lead the bank.

Rodney WhiteRodney White is retiring as president and chief executive officer on May 31. He will continue to serve on the bank’s board. White has been a part of Dalhart Federal Savings & Loan since joining the bank’s board in 2005. In 2013, he came to work at the bank as executive vice president. He was named president and CEO in 2015. White earned his BBA degree from Texas Tech University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. Active in his community, he has served on the Dalhart ISD board, Dalhart Chamber of Commerce and as president of the local chapter of Rotary International.

“I will miss working with such a great staff and helping the Dalhart area community to grow and flourish,” White says. “I look forward to spending more time with my grandchildren!”

Duane BrewerDuane Brewer, who is also retiring on May 31, has been a part of Dalhart Federal Savings & Loan for 46 years and had the difficult job of leading the association through the challenging economic hurdles of the 1980s. He joined the bank as a loan officer in 1975 and held numerous positions throughout his career. Brewer was named to the board of directors in 1981 and was appointed president and CEO in 1989. He retired as president and CEO in 2009.

With more than 23 years of banking experience, Zane Johnson joined the bank earlier this year as executive vice president and will succeed White on June 1 as president and CEO. Prior to joining Dalhart Federal Savings & Loan, Johnson was senior vice president/Dalhart market president at AimBank (now First Bank and Trust), where he served since 2017. His work experience also includes serving at Capital Farm Credit, Peoples Bank (now First Financial Bank) and American Bank of Commerce.
