WestStar Title’s Coon Retires, Leaving Legacy of Leadership and Community Service

February 13, 2025

Janette CoonJanette Coon, senior vice president and commercial escrow officer at WestStar Title, a division of El Paso-based WestStar Bank, retired at the end of January, concluding a 41-year career. She has been a member of the WestStar Title team for 14 years.

“It has been a great honor to be part of WestStar Title and commercial real estate in El Paso,” Coon says. “The colleagues I have worked with have become lifelong friends, and I am incredibly grateful for their support and my family’s encouragement throughout my journey.”

Coon has made her mark in the El Paso business community by actively participating on the boards of several organizations, including Certified Commercial Investment Member, the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce and the Business Development Division. Her service also extends to Bien Vivir, the Central Business Association/Downtown Management board, Child Crisis Center and Down Syndrome Coalition, along with leadership positions in the Sunrise Rotary of El Paso and Executive Women International.

“Janette’s dedication and significant contributions have greatly benefited WestStar [Bank], WestStar Title and the Borderplex,” says David W. Osborn, president and CEO. “As she embarks on her retirement, we want to express our gratitude for her hard work and wish her the best in retirement.”

Established in 1990, WestStar Bank serves the El Paso, Las Cruces and northern Mexico area—collectively known as the Borderplex region.
