VeraBank Welcomes New Associates in Georgetown, Conroe, Leander and Austin

November 17, 2022

On November 7, Henderson-based VeraBank announced the hiring of new bankers for three of its Central Texas locations.

VeraBank has hired Kevin Kelly to serve as the Georgetown market president. He has worked as a community banker in the Georgetown market for nearly 20 years. Before that, he served the Austin market for almost 20 years. Kelly is very involved in his community, having served on several boards for nonprofit organizations, as well as the City of Georgetown’s Economic Development and Transportation Enhancement boards.

“Kevin has significant experience as a community banker in the Georgetown market,” says Jonathan Voight, senior vice president/regional manager. “He brings a can-do attitude and a wealth of knowledge to the position.”

Paul McGuire has joined the bank’s commercial lending team in Conroe. He will serve as senior vice president/commercial banker. McGuire’s banking career spans 20 years, including his experience as a branch manager and private banker before transitioning to commercial lending and real estate.

“What makes Paul special is his ability to form lasting relationships with his customers,” says Brad Tidwell, president and CEO. “He enjoys making banking easy for them. We’re glad he’s with us.”

Andrew Seals has joined the community bank’s commercial lending team in Leander, where he will serve as a commercial banker. He previously worked at First Citizens Bank for five years as a business banker. His commercial lending experience includes working with businesses to help purchase real estate and equipment, as well as obtain lines of credit.

“Andrew’s extensive background in commercial lending makes him a valuable asset to VeraBank,” Voight says. “He’s a welcome addition to our Leander team.”

VeraBank has tapped Stan McShurley to serve on its wealth management team as assistant vice president/investment specialist at the Austin branch. He has worked in financial services for more than a decade. McShurley earned a degree in economics from the University of Texas–Austin. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a Certified Financial Planner professional.

“Stan brings significant investment experience with a history of working with individuals and families to help them create customized investment portfolios,” says Toby Fails, senior vice president of wealth management.

“We continue to grow our talented investment team in Austin,” Tidwell says. “Stan’s commitment to helping families and business owners achieve their financial goals aligns perfectly with our values.”

Established in 1930, VeraBank serves 16 counties in East, Central and Southeast Texas with a network of 40 branches.
