Harlingen-based Texas Regional Bank has promoted John Tippit IV to executive vice president over divisions. He will oversee multiple divisions in the newly created role, including trust, wealth management, mortgage, capital markets and insurance.
Tippit joined Texas Regional Bank in 2016 as an investment advisor in the bank’s wealth management division. He was promoted to vice president and senior financial advisor in 2019 and, most recently, to senior vice president in 2022. During his time with wealth management, Tippit had an impact by strengthening the division’s investment philosophy, portfolio management and internal processes. In 2020, he helped lead the wealth management division’s conversion to a registered investment advisor. During his time in the wealth management division, the team’s assets under management increased by 942 percent.
“His leadership, knowledge and dedication to the bank will play a vital role in ensuring that the company’s mission, vision and core values are consistent within the divisions, while his financial acumen will contribute immensely to the ongoing performance of the divisions,” says Michael Scaief, chairman and CEO.
Tippit has 12 years of banking experience and has served Texas Regional Bank for the past six years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas.
Established in 1987, Texas Regional Bank operates banking centers across the Rio Grande Valley, Texas Hill Country, Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
