In late June, Longview-based Texas Bank and Trust Co. announced a number of recent promotions.
Clay Thompson has been promoted to president of the bank’s eastern region. He has been employed by Texas Bank and Trust for more than five years, serving in various management capacities involving the bank’s credit analyst program, credit administration and lending areas. He holds a BBA degree in finance from Texas Tech University and an MBA in finance from Indiana University, and is a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University, earning both distinction and leadership recognition. He also holds the credit risk certified designation with the Risk Management Association. A graduate of the Leadership Tyler Class of 2001–02, Thompson is a former board member of United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. He is also a former city councilman for the City of Bullard, former board member and past board chair of United Way of Tyler/Smith County and former board member for Tyler Economic Development Corp., the Bullard Economic Development Corp., the Tyler affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Tyler YMCA.
Andy Reynolds is now senior vice president and facilities manager. He joined the bank’s staff in 2019. He has been involved in business administration roles for more than 26 years, with experience in directing operations, finance, human resources, risk management, information technology, construction projects and facility master planning. He holds a business management degree from LeTourneau University. Active in his community, Reynolds currently serves as a chaplain for the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team. He is a past director for the East Texas Court Appointed Special Advocates and East Texas Piney Woods chapter of the American Red Cross. He is a past member of LeTourneau University’s President’s Advisory Committee and is a past president of the East Texas chapter of the National Association of Church Business Administrators.
Melinda Beatty has been promoted to compliance/CRA officer. An employee of the bank since 2006, she has served as assistant compliance officer, regional retail manager, retail operations manager, branch manager and operations manager. She holds a BBA degree in management from the University of Texas– Tyler where she was awarded the 1995 Outstanding Member Award, Dean’s Scholarship and E.P. (Pop) Christenson Memorial Scholarship. Beatty is a graduate of the 2004–05 Leadership Longview class and is a past member of the East Texas Builders Association, Women’s Council of Realtors and Women in Longview.
Rachelle Carter has been promoted to vice president and deposit operations manager. She has worked in the banking industry since 1992, joining Texas Bank and Trust in 2000. She is a graduate of the bank’s Leadership Class as well as its Corporate University. Carter holds a BBA degree from LeTourneau University and is a 2016 graduate of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas Operations Institute. She was certified as a national check payments professional by the Electronic Check Clearing House Organization in 2022 and is a current board member of the Longview Child Development Center.
Tina Scott is now banking officer and online consumer lender. She has been with the bank since 1997. She attended Texas A&M University–Commerce and, later, Kilgore College. During her tenure with Texas Bank and Trust, she has worked in lobby services, the accounting division and lending division. Scott has served her community as a volunteer for Junior Achievement, the Longview Museum of Fine Arts and Alleyfest.
