State National Bank in Groom Appoints Harris President and CEO

May 27, 2026

nameOn May 18, Groom-based State National Bank announced the appointment of Tracy Harris as president and chief executive officer. She brings more than 30 years of community banking experience, including seven years as a president and CEO, to her new job.

Harris joins State National Bank from Texas Regional Bank, a $2.7 billion institution headquartered in Harlingen, where she served as chief strategic planning and project officer. In that capacity, she directed the bank’s annual strategic plan, drove a 50 percent reduction in initiative delivery times through process automation and led the organization’s work on emerging digital assets, including stablecoins and tokenized deposits. Prior to that, she served seven years as president and CEO of National Bank & Trust in La Grange, where she successfully navigated key initiatives and grew the loan portfolio by $40 million.

A graduate of Wayland Baptist University with a BSBA degree and an MA degree in management, Harris also completed the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University and holds the designation of Certified Community Bank Director. Her board leadership includes serving as 2024–25 chair of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council for the 11th District.

“Tracy is exactly the leader State National Bank needs right now,” the bank’s board of directors notes in its press release. “She has done this before—built strong teams, driven loan growth and delivered results for shareholders and the community alike. Her depth of knowledge and her Pampa roots make her the right fit for Groom and the Panhandle.”

Established in 1904, State National Bank serves communities in the Texas Panhandle, including Carson, Gray, Armstrong and Potter counties.
