Spring Hill State Bank in Longview Names Rhymes President

September 12, 2024

Wallce E. Rhymes IIILes Mendicello, CEO and chairman of Longview-based Spring Hill State Bank, announced that the board of directors has appointed Wallace E. Rhymes III as president and bank director. Rhymes has served as executive vice president and advisory director since 2021.

Rhymes joined the bank in 1997 and has more than 30 years of banking experience. He is a graduate of the University of Texas–Tyler and the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

“Rhymes is the ideal person to continue our community bank tradition and reputation as a high quality, friendly place to conduct banking business,” Mendicello says.

Rhymes’ recent community service endeavors include serving as president of SeeSaw Children’s Place, president of Heartsway Hospice, vice president of Northeast Texas Habitat for Humanity and treasurer of the Longview Museum of Fine Arts.

Established in 1977, Spring Hill State Bank operates two full-service locations in Longview.
