Security National Bank Promotes Smith to Lead Commercial Lending, Hires Hunt to Head SBA Lending Team

July 15, 2026

Omaha, Nebraska-based Security National Bank of Texas has announced the promotion of a new leader for the bank’s commercial lending team and a new hire for SBA sales management.

Ian SmithIan Smith has been promoted to senior vice president/commercial lending team lead. He is based at the bank’s financial center at The Union in Dallas. In his new role, Smith will oversee the team of commercial and industrial (C&I) lenders.

Smith joined Security National Bank of Texas in 2023, bringing valuable commercial lending experience. Prior to his promotion, he was vice president/C&I lending. Before joining Security National Bank, he was vice president/commercial banking at b1BANK in Dallas.

Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas A&M University and holds a Credit Analyst and Commercial Banking Certificate through the Risk Management Association. He is also a graduate of the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

Brian HuntBrian J. Hunt, CCIM, has joined the bank as senior vice president/SBA sales manager, based at the bank’s Tollway Plaza Addison loan production office in Dallas. He brings extensive SBA lending expertise, specializing in SBA 7(a) lending, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate and health care financing. He will lead the bank’s SBA lending team.

With more than 25 years of industry experience, Hunt has assisted business owners nationwide in obtaining capital and navigating SBA lending. Prior to joining Security National Bank in May, he was regional director of SBA lending at Provide, Powered by Fifth Third Bank. Earlier in his career, he held SBA lending jobs at Live Oak Bank and BBVA.

Hunt holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana University and is a board member of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors Independent Brokers Group.

Established in 1964, Security National Bank of Texas has offices in Nebraska, Iowa and Texas.
