James E. Landen Jr. is Omaha, Nebraska-based Security National Bank’s new Texas market president and the son of James E. “Jim” Landen, Security National Bank’s chairman and CEO. Landen Jr. has 10 years of banking experience in the Dallas market. He previously worked at Veritex Community Bank as senior vice president and as market president of the Dallas Central Community Bank Group. Prior to his tenure at Veritex Community Bank, Landen worked at Bank of America, where he served in a variety of roles, gaining proficiency in the audit, compliance and credit functions of the bank after completion of a management development program. He also has previous banking experience from Bank of Texas and Security National Bank.
Landen holds his BBA degree in finance from Southern Methodist University and is an active member of the SMU Alumni Association. He currently participates in several service organizations, including on the executive committee of the Mustang Club, which supports the Southern Methodist University athletic department; as a board member and past president of the Calyx Club; board member of the First Tee of Greater Dallas; and member of the M&M Foundation and Terpsichorean Club. He also enjoys teaching financial literacy and previously taught to aspiring GED students.
Established in 1964, Security National Bank operates 15 branches in Nebraska, as well as its first Texas location, which opened in Dallas’ The Union in June.
