Kenneth Kuntschik, regional director of the San Antonio office for the Texas Department of Banking, is retiring with more than 22 years of service with the agency. His retirement will be effective August 31.
“Kenneth has served for almost 37 years as a banking regulator,” notes Charles G. Cooper, commissioner. “He has been a valuable member of our management team. His work and experience have been vital to the supervision of state-chartered banks in Texas. We wish Kenneth a long and happy retirement.”
Kuntschik joined the department in 2004 as the regional review examiner for the Austin/San Antonio office and was promoted to regional director in 2005. In this capacity, Kuntschik has had the responsibility of reviewing examination reports, monitoring the financial conditions of banks within the region, interacting with bankers and fielding their questions, assisting with training and staff development, and working on various projects designed to improve the department’s examination process.
Prior to his employment with the Texas Department of Banking, Kuntschik served as a commissioned examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Kuntschik graduated from the University of Texas–San Antonio with a BBA degree in management.
