Yoakum-based Yoakum National Bank recently announced the hiring of two new executives.
Monty Rogers has been named the bank’s 12th president. He will also serve as chief lending officer. In addition to responsibilities for overseeing lending across the organization, Rogers will focus on growth opportunities for the bank in the wider region. He will report to CEO Jim Smitherman. As a senior banking executive, Rogers has 25 years of direct lending, credit and management experience serving as president of Security Bank in Midland, CEO of United Bank of El Paso and, most recently, Lubbock market president for First United Bank of Lubbock.
Rogers holds a BBA degree in finance from Texas Tech University. He also attended the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University and Northwest College of Credit in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Additionally, the bank has hired Ron Majewski as West Houston market president. With more than 20 years of experience in commercial lending, credit and regulatory oversight, Majewski comes to Yoakum National Bank from BancorpSouth, where he has served as West Houston market president since 2018. Prior to that, he was market president at Icon Bank in Katy for 11 years and with Sterling Bank in Houston for seven years. Majewski began his banking career as a regulator in the Office of Comptroller of the Currency. He will work with small-business owners, expanding the area of Yoakum National Bank’s personalized lending services to benefit customers in the West Houston and Katy areas.
Established in 1890, Yoakum National Bank remains an independently owned and operated community bank founded in 1890.
