Rodriguez Joins PlainsCapital Bank’s San Antonio Lending Group

May 16, 2021

Derrich RodriguezDallas-based PlainsCapital Bank has hired Derrich Rodriguez to serve as senior vice president and senior commercial loan officer with the San Antonio lending group. A longtime resident of San Antonio, Rodriguez has two decades of banking experience in the area. He joins PlainsCapital Bank from Amegy Bank, where he served as senior vice president of the commercial real estate banking group for seven years. Prior to his time there, he served as vice president of Comerica Bank’s national real estate services.

“His in-depth commercial lending experience will add value to our continued efforts to support Texas’ and San Antonio’s business climate,” says Michael Molak, San Antonio region chairman.

Rodriguez received a BBA degree in finance from Texas State University. He is a member of Rey Feo Consejo Educational Foundation, chairman of the St. Anthony Catholic School board of trustees and a graduate of Leadership San Antonio.

“PlainsCapital’s reputation as a leading Texas bank is well known across the Lone Star State,” Rodriguez says. “Because San Antonio has historically been a very business-friendly environment, PlainsCapital Bank’s high-quality commercial lending products and services are a good fit for the market. I’m thrilled to join their team and begin providing local business leaders with the lending solutions they need to pursue their goals.”

Established in 1955, PlainsCapital Bank, the fourth-largest Texas-headquartered bank by deposit market share, operates 59 Texas branches. PlainsCapital Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hilltop Holdings.
