Dallas-based PlainsCapital Bank recently announced the hiring of two seasoned bankers—Michael Ellzey and Jamie Gutierrez.
Ellzey has joined the bank’s commercial lending team as senior vice president. He will office out of The Woodlands branch at 1699 Research Forest Dr., Ste. 100. Ellzey has more than 20 years of commercial lending and banking experience in the greater Houston region. He joins from Community Bank of Texas where he developed new and existing business and helped clients meet profit and loan quality goals. Ellzey is the latest addition to PlainsCapital’s team in The Woodlands led by branch president, Danny Schroder, who opened the location in June 2020.
“[Mike] has a strong track record and a wide range of experience that make him a good fit to serve business owners in North Houston,” Schroder says. “Mike’s deep understanding of the region will add value as we continue equipping our clients with critical lending and banking solutions.”
Ellzey received a BBA degree in finance from Sam Houston State University and holds a lending certificate from the University of Texas. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Commercial Real Estate Association of Montgomery County and is a volunteer at Inspiration Ranch. Ellzey is also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Gutierrez has joined PlainsCapital Bank’s San Antonio lending group as vice president/commercial loan officer at 150 E. Sonterra Blvd., Ste. 150. She has more than 22 years of financial services experience, including small-business lending, lines of credit and health care and dental banking. Prior to joining PlainsCapital, Gutierrez was with Sunflower Bank NA where she served as a business banking officer specializing in medical banking.
“[Jamie’s] professional experience and active community involvement give her unique perspectives that will benefit the clients we serve in San Antonio and across Texas,” says Michael Molak, San Antonio region chairman.
Over her career, Gutierrez has been involved in various community-focused organizations, including the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the New Braunfels Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
Established in 1955, PlainsCapital Bank operates 59 Texas branches. Its major markets are Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Lubbock, the Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio.
