Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Regent Bank is entering the Dallas market, bringing more than a century of combined banking experience to the lending team. The Dallas loan production office is actively serving business clients, with a permanent office space currently under construction at 6210 Campbell Rd. The team of longtime Dallas metro bankers specializes in commercial real estate and business lending, health care banking, working capital solutions and equipment financing. It serves entrepreneurs, business clients, medical professionals and local families across the region. Its total assets are approaching $2 billion. This is Regent Bank’s second location in North Texas; an office in Frisco opened in January 2024.
“This expansion was in part due to the Dallas market, but heavily driven by talent,” says Sean Kouplen, chairman and CEO. “This is all part of our long-term vision for Dallas, which includes expanding to offer full-service consumer banking in the future.”
Greg Jewell will lead Regent Bank’s Dallas team as market president. He brings nearly 40 years of banking experience to the role and is recognized for his ability to navigate complex credit structures, including international and cross-border financial transactions. Jewell earned a BA degree in criminal justice from the University of Georgia and completed the American Financial Services Association Executive Program in Banking and Financial Services at the University of North Carolina. He is active in business and civic circles throughout Texas.
Mei Miao, senior commercial lender, has more than 30 years of experience in accounting, retail banking, commercial lending and multi-cultural banking. Miao regularly presents on financial education topics to community organizations, including nonprofit organizations and universities serving international students. She earned her BSBA degree in accounting and business/management from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas–Dallas
Yong Kwon, senior commercial lender, joins Regent Bank with more than 23 years of experience in commercial and industrial banking. His expertise includes income-producing and owner-occupied commercial real estate, treasury management and interest rate hedging strategies. An advocate for financial education, Kwon is active in the Dallas Real Estate Council’s mentorship program, for which he teaches nonprofit organizations how to seek financing for real estate projects.
Daniel Bailey, senior commercial lender, joins the team as a senior commercial lender with more than 15 years of experience in commercial banking, specializing in cash flow management, working capital solutions and borrowing base structures secured by inventory and accounts receivable. Bailey holds a BBA degree in finance from the University of Texas–Arlington. He is active in the nonprofit community, currently serving on the board of directors at Mi Escuelita Preschool and as an advisor for the Beta Theta Pi fraternity at the University of Texas–Arlington.
Completing the team are Sam Foster, portfolio manager; Gavin Hursey, senior lending assistant; and Kyle Paschal, credit analyst.
