Lone Star National Bank’s Deanda Appointed to Texas Economic Development Corp.

September 12, 2024

David Deanda Jr.S. David Deanda Jr., president of McAllen-based Lone Star National Bank, was recently appointed vice chair of the Texas Economic Development Corp. board of directors by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The organization is tasked with promoting Texas as the premier state for business domestically and internationally.

Deanda’s extensive experience in the banking industry spans several decades, during which he has played a crucial role in expanding banking services to underserved communities. His work in the banking sector is particularly noted for supporting small businesses and promoting financial literacy.

Deanda is actively involved in the Minority Depository Institutions advisory council and the Dallas Fed Community Depository Institutions advisory council. His leadership in the Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority (HCRMA) as its former chair has been pivotal in advancing transportation infrastructure in South Texas. Under his leadership, HCRMA launched several projects to improve regional mobility, reduce traffic congestion and enhance connectivity between communities.

Deanda holds a BBA degree from Texas A&M University and is a graduate of the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. He serves on several boards, including the Doctors Hospital at Renaissance board of managers, Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships (VAMOS) board of directors and Texas A&M University Kingsville Foundation board of trustees. He is also a member of the Hidalgo County Metropolitan Planning Organization.

Established in 1983, Lone Star National Bank operates 37 banking offices in South Texas and San Antonio.
