The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) is seeking a full-time Vendor Due Diligence Manager to assist in the development of processes for the selection, management and evaluation of community bank vendors for endorsement by IBAT. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in executing an effective vendor management program within a financial institution. As IBAT is equipped to support full-time telework, relocation is not required.
General Responsibilities
- Assists in the implementation of endorsement processes with specific policies, procedures and tools
- Contributes to business strategies by developing actionable plans or programs and ensures integration of related functions
- Establishes business plans, policies, procedures that support and align with company initiatives and strategies
- Negotiates license agreements—e.g., contracts or services
- Executes the process to identify, evaluate and propose vendor selection
- Prepares business cases for engagement with vendors to include criteria for clearly measuring the association and vendor expectations
- Provides vendor performance scoring, visibility reporting and continuous improvement of vendor performance in adherence to contractual terms
- Communicates vendor performance issues to process owners and senior management and, ultimately, the IBAT Services board of directors
- After the endorsement process has occurred
- Tracks issue resolution and member feedback on vendor service quality
- Maintains communication with vendors to track potential changes that would require staff or board review
- Develops and provides regular updates on vendor performance and member feedback.
- Implements structure, process and governance as it relates to vendor communications, contract management and ongoing vendor relationships
- Identifies customer needs and opportunities to ensure that all programs and services drive value
- Develops and executes board and other management reports
- Thoughtfully and constructively assists with conflict resolution
- Consults with bankers, vendors and teammates to identify all facets of an issue and generate a solution
- Keeps abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure alignment with association needs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum of five years experience in banking industry-related functions, vendor management, strategic sourcing and contract negotiation or contract management
- Familiarity with federal compliance policies and requirements for vendor management
- Familiarity with financial risk evaluation methodologies and risk-based modeling
- Knowledge of outsourcing solutions and compliance evaluation requirements
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of sourcing and contract principles
- Familiar with vendor management and contract applications
- Ability to understand and translate financial implications on the business
- Experience preparing and implementing negotiation and vendor selection strategies and leading vendor performance analysis
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with management and external vendors
- Effectively and professionally communicate through verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Prepare and implement negotiation and vendor selection strategies and lead vendor performance analysis
- Ability to influence and monitor the satisfaction of the relationships between the community bank, vendor and IBAT
- Excellent conceptualization, analytical and logic skills
- Ability to function both independently and as a team member
- Effectively manage multiple priorities and projects; function in a fast-paced moving, constantly changing, deadline-driven environment
- Proactively deal with ambiguity and offer creative solutions
