TEXAS BANKING NEWS, PEOPLE AND IDEAS

Market President | FirstBank Southwest | Amarillo, Texas

August 5, 2022

Job Summary:  Responsible for providing leadership, direction and guidance of Market activities, while ensuring short and long-range profitability and planned growth of the Bank.

Education:  A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business or finance-related field; or equivalent experience is preferred.  Equivalent experience: 1 year of experience is equal to 1 year of education.

Experience:  A minimum of 7 years’ experience in lending and bank operations is required, in addition to a minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develops the strategic goals and objectives of the market location.
  • Monitors the performance of the bank within the market and develops strategies to increase market share.
  • Leads, coaches, evaluates, executes, and impacts the proactive marketing activities for the attraction, expansion, and retention of customers.
  • Strengthens new and current customer relationships, introduces new and existing customers to the banks products and services, addresses customer questions, and cross sells products and services.
  • Assists and oversees staff in commercial lending.  Performs market lending duties.
  • Collaborates with Branch Manager to ensure operational functions are in alignment with overall market goals.
  • Represents the Bank in community functions.
  • Maintains prescribed security controls to protect against criminal and fraudulent operations and/or unnecessary risk or exposure.
  • Assists in the preparation of budget; monitors and operates according to budget.
  • Coordinates marketing programs with the Marketing department.
  • Stays abreast of all issues, laws, and regulations pertaining to banking.
  • Participates in an on-going comprehensive training program to maintain awareness of compliance regulations; complies with Bank Secrecy Act and with operating controls and procedures; accountable for compliance with applicable consumer laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Technical Knowledge: 

  • General computer skills
  • Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel

  • Typing on a keyboard for long periods of time
  • Handle high-stress environment
  • Maintain professional appearance
