First United Bank Welcomes Hinders as Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending

Gary HindersPlains Bancorp Inc., the holding company for Dimmitt-based First United Bank, has hired Gary Hinders to serve on the bank’s Canyon team as senior vice president of commercial lending. He will office at the Canyon banking center at 801 23rd St.

Hinders, a longtime resident of Canyon, comes to First United Bank with 29 years of experience in the financial industry. He is a 1981 graduate of West Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture business and economics. He is an active member and leader of the Canyon community. He currently serves as mayor of Canyon and is a member of the Noon Lions Club, WTAMU School of Business advisory committee, WTAMU School of Agriculture advisory committee, Canyon EDC board and Dreamland Cemetery board

Established in 1907, First United Bank reports total assets of more than $2 billion and currently operates 17 banking center offices in 13 West Texas markets: Amarillo, Canyon, Childress, Dimmitt, Earth, Lamesa, Littlefield, Lubbock, Paducah, Seagraves, Seminole, Sudan and Wichita Falls.
