First United Bank Names Newman Chief Information Officer and Tobkin Chief Technology Officer

November 2, 2022

Durant, Oklahoma-based First United Bank has named Renee Newman chief experience officer and Tadd Tobkin senior vice president/chief technology officer.

Renee NewmanNewman has more than 25 years of financial services experience spanning community, regional and large financial institutions. Reporting directly to CEO Greg Massey, Newman will drive a consistent customer and employee experience across all channels. She will lead the horizontal-led groups supporting the organization’s community bank system, including retail, lending, product, program office, treasury and wealth management.

“Renee’s experience, energy, engagement and desire to work on purpose-driven efforts make her an incredible leader,” Massey observes. “She is a natural choice for this critical role and a leader to get excited about inside our organization.”

In addition to her role as chief information officer, Newman will sit on the bank’s executive team and serve as a liaison with mortgage and insurance, focusing on creating strategic moves to accomplish the organization’s “Vision 2030: Elevating 10 Million Lives Through Love and Impact.”

Newman is dedicated to community engagement and is active in many professional and civic organizations. She currently serves on the board of Special Olympics Montana and is a director of Girl Talk Inc., a peer-to-peer mentoring program. Newman also serves as an industry advisory board member for Nymbus and Eko Investments.

Newman holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Oregon State University and is a Pacific Coast Banking School graduate. She and her family will be relocating from Billings, Montana.

Tadd TobkinTobkin has an extensive background in technology, including transformations, consulting, investing and operations, as well as building and delivering on strategy. Prior to joining First United Bank, he served as executive principal/technology strategy and transformation for mortgage lending company Mr. Cooper in Dallas, where he set the strategic direction and vision for the organization’s digital and business transformation.

“Tadd’s proven track record of transformation and innovation will play an integral part in our Vision 2030 efforts and beyond,” Massey says. “His alignment with our values and passion for bringing dreams to life makes me proud to have him on board.”

Tobkin holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from North Dakota State University, an MBA degree from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University and a doctorate of jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law. He is dedicated to community engagement, founding several companies and serving on numerous professional and civic organizations.

Established in 1900, First United Bank has more than 95 bank, mortgage and insurance locations throughout Oklahoma and Texas.
