Yaira Velez has joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas as an assistant vice president in the banking supervision department, where she will provide strategic leadership for the consumer affairs team. She previously served as manager of consumer affairs at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, where she led nationwide projects to enhance the examination process while focusing on process improvement, efficiency and consistency. Velez has also served as a compliance, Bank Secrecy Act and Community Reinvestment Act officer for a $730 million bank in Puerto Rico, as well as a risk management consultant.
Velez received her BBA degree from the University of Puerto Rico and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado in Boulder, Colorado.
