Rusty Rust, president and CEO of Nacogdoches-based Commercial Bank of Texas, recently announced the promotion of John Thannisch to head of wealth management and trust in support of the bank’s vision to be the premier community-focused financial services organization. He will serve all 22 of the Commercial Bank of Texas branches.
Thannisch has more than 31 years of experience in community banking, specializing in wealth management and trust. He joined the Commercial Bank of Texas team in 2017. Prior to that, he served for 23 years as vice president and trust officer at First Bank & Trust East Texas in Lufkin.
Thannisch earned an associate’s degree in applied science mechanics from Lamar University and his BBA degree in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a member of the Lufkin Noon Lions Club.
