Cason Named Head of Texas Middle-Market Banking at Independent Financial

January 22, 2021

Tiffany CasonMichael Hobbs, chief banking officer at McKinney-based Independent Financial, announced that Tiffany Cason has been hired to serve as the bank’s head of Texas middle-market banking. She will work with the 1,500 employees across Independent Financial’s network to ensure continuity across all lines of business while working to attract new business verticals. Her team will focus on providing access to seasoned, experienced talent to middle-market businesses that do not often receive personalized services or attention from top leadership at the biggest banks.

Cason previously served as Dallas market president of commercial banking for Capital One Bank (2015–20), senior vice president and corporate banking manager for BBVA Compass (2013–15), vice president and relationship manager for BBVA Compass (2008–13) and vice president at Wachovia Bank (2006–08).

Cason holds a BA degree in finance and marketing from Baylor University, as well as an MBA degree in management and business from Pepperdine University. Active in her community, she has served as chair of the executive committee and investment committee for the Dallas Regional Chamber since 2017. She has also been involved with the Young Women’s Preparatory Network, American Red Cross of North Texas, President’s Advisory Task Force at Texas Wesleyan University, Communities in Schools of Tarrant County and Child Study Center and Child Study Center Foundation. In 2017, Cason was named one of Dallas’ “40 Under 40” by the Dallas Business Journal and in 2016 was included on the Fort Worth Business Press’ list of “40 Under 40.”

“We operate in some of the best markets right now for businesses and Tiffany represents exactly who we want to lead this division,” Hobbs says. “Tiffany and I know that the personal relationships, strategic counsel and value-added partnerships we provide still matter to today’s business owners, CEOs and CFOs. Her experience and commitment to service will ensure that every business is just a phone call or email away from a local partner who can assist in achieving its goals.”

Established in 1913, Independent Financial operates 93 locations in four markets: Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin and Houston, as well as the Colorado Front Range region.
