Bank of Texas Welcomes Wright as North Texas Market Executive

December 14, 2023

Dennis WrightFort Worth-based Bank of Texas has hired Dennis Wright as North Texas market executive in Dallas, according to the Dallas Business Journal.

“My role is to more further establish and firmly entrench Bank of Texas in the northern part of the Dallas metro area,” Wright told the Journal. “We’re already actively serving these communities, but we’re committed to expanding our team to better serve our clients in these areas.”

With 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, prior to joining Bank of Texas, Wright served as Dallas market president at Kansas City, Missouri-based UMB Bank. During his tenure, UMB more than doubled its deposits in Dallas/Fort Worth from $206.5 million to $483.3 million as of June 30. Prior to UMB Bank, Wright worked at Regions Bank, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Compass Bank, as well as serving as a bank examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

The bank’s new Granite Park office should help attract talent, Wright told the Journal. Currently, Bank of Texas has bankers working from Granite Parkway, Sherry Lane, Richardson and Sherman. The expansion in Granite Park will allow the bankers to remain focused on northern Dallas, Collin, Grayson and Denison counties while working from a centralized location, the Journal notes

“Bank of Texas has a fantastic reputation in the industry in all the communities we serve, and I was also eager to be a part of a company that’s strategically poised for growth,” Wright told the Journal. “While others in the industry have been pulling back, Bank of Texas is full steam ahead.”

Wright earned a BBA degree in finance and management from Abilene Christian University. He currently serves on the board of Broadway Dallas and previously sat on the board of Financial Executives International Dallas and volunteered with the American Cancer Society.

Established in 1984, Bank of Texas has 39 locations and more than 900 employees.
