Oklahoma-based Anchor D Bank Appoints Texas Market President Schnell to Board of Directors

Michael SchnellIn February, Texhoma, Oklahoma-based Anchor D Bank announced the appointment of Michael L. Schnell, executive vice president/market president, to its board of directors. He has spent the majority of his career in the Texas Panhandle. After many years serving as chairman and CEO of another local bank, he joined Anchor D Bank in 2020, opening its first Texas branch in Spearman.

“Mike brings tremendous experience in all areas of banking and has served for more than 40 years in the Hansford County, Texas, area,” says Paul Freeman, chairman. “With a customer-centered focus, he has a passion for developing long-lasting banking relationships.”

“Mike knows banking and knows our market,” says Rowdy Slavin, CEO. “He brings invaluable experience and knowledge to the table.”

Schnell earned his BBA degree from Southern Methodist University. He is a past chairman of the Texas Bankers Association.

“I couldn’t be happier with an invitation to serve on the board of Anchor D Bank, supporting and working for a growing and customer-focused bank,” Schnell says.

Established in 1906, Anchor D Bank, is a family-owned bank with four full-service branches across the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.
