Native Houstonian and local business leader Paula Ann Miller was recently appointed to Corpus Christi-based American Bank’s Houston regional board of directors. She is founder, president and CEO of P.A. Miller Consulting Inc., a full-service accounting and consulting firm. Miller is the eighth local business leader to join the Houston regional board.
“Her depth of business and financial experience will complement our current board as we work to expand our reach in the Greater Houston area,” says Glenn Clements, American Bank’s vice chairman for Houston. “Not only is Paula Ann an accomplished business executive, but she’s also an experienced board-level leader who will bring immediate value to our regional board.”

Miller began her career at Coopers & Lybrand, currently PwC, and has accumulated 30 years of experience in financial consulting for law firms, private industry and Fortune 500 companies. Founded by Miller in 1995, P.A. Miller Consulting Inc. has offices in Houston and New York City. She graduated from the Owner President Management Program at Harvard Business School. Prior to that, Miller earned an MBA degree in finance and an MS degree in accounting and tax from the University of St. Thomas. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Houston, earning a bachelor’s degree in pre-law and criminal justice.
As an appointee of Texas Governor Rick Perry, Miller served as a member of the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners and continued in this role under the leadership of Governor Greg Abbott. Miller was also elected to the board of directors for the Harvard Business School Club of Houston, serving as president for The Woodlands chapter. She also served on the board of trustees for the Houston Ballet, board of directors for the Alley Theatre and board of directors for the Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts. Miller served on the advisory board of directors for BBVA USA and remained on the board through the that bank’s acquisition by PNC Bank. She currently serves on the board of directors for the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston. Miller was named one of “Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women” by Houston Woman Magazine in 2022 for her leadership in business and the community.
